For a manufacturing company like Donati, environmental awareness relates to all aspects of developing, making and distributing our product – it also extends to our supplier and client network as well as our product’s entire lifecycle.
Since starting an environmental awareness policy many years ago, we keep our commitment of transparency and continuous improvement of our environmental footprint on product and company level.
Our environmental management is fully certified with UNI EN ISO 14001:2015.
In addition, Donati has been the world’s first manufacturer of office seating components to define Product Category Rules in accordance with UNI EN ISO 14025:2006 and to complete the Environmental Product Declaration – an environmental impact assessment of its products throughout the entire life cycle based on the LCA method defined in UNI EN ISO 14040:2006 and 14044:2006.
Donati has established a team of specialists dedicated to environmental management. The team is responsible for building environmental awareness in the company as well as within its network of suppliers and clients, for running internal training programs, for managing environmental product and company certifications and – most importantly – for driving strategic improvement projects.
Some of our recent targets and accomplishments include:
— series production of chair components with 100% recyclable materials
— chair bases: increase use of recycled plastic and aluminum to 100%
— installation of photovoltaic systems in Donati factories
— changing packaging towards circular concepts and recycled materials
— building a central logistics hub heavily reducing internal transports and local traffic
— working towards a circular business model with take-back programs
